Mood: Breezing through the bay
Gal pal, Michelle, and I took a day trip to San Francisco and spent a lot of it in Chinatown. Despite it being her first time in the cultural section of town, she definitely did not look like a tourist. Michelle was so self conscious about wearing denim on denim, especially with such similar washes. However, she totally rocked the outfit with a neutral gray jersey sweater and classic sk8-hi's. Her style was somewhat skater and somewhat street. The jean jacket gives a casual "put this outfit together in under two minutes" vibe. The outfit was simplistic, but nevertheless a statement. The lack of stick straight hair or curled locks adds a type of individualism to the look. The two braids paired with the black shades wrapped in denim give Michelle a bad girl look. Badgal Riri would be so proud.
Mood: A day in downtown
Of course the mom friend of the group dresses like a trendy mom too. Miss Ebonie Mikhaiel has nailed the style of your modern Madre. While rose appliqués are what every Forever 21 piece has, the simple plants give a fresh new vibe for summer. A light pink cotton pinstripe button up is perfect for an afternoon at the Crocker, it's sophistication at its finest. The looser sleeves take us back to the 80s, which might because accurate since the top was taken off an Eco Thrift rack. The best thing about the outfit that adds some teenage twist is the rugged cut at the bottom, which Ebs mentioned she did herself about twenty minutes before we left. The look is nicely wrapped together with mom shorts, another thrift find!
Mood: Afternoon shopping with your girl
While walking around the Roseville Fountains, I saw these two girls just sitting and basically fell in love with their outfits. I asked to take a picture and Deja(left) told me how she revamped her jacket by herself with a little help from The Simpsons. Shayma(right) was shy about the situation, but we can tell she isn't shy about her fashion sense. These two girls both carry the ongoing trend of "streetsyle" with their clear glasses and oversized custom jean jackets. Fun fact, they're dating so it's a couple that dresses well together. A dream.
The average person probably doesn't where the same outfit to date and then later a funeral. I believe everyone has their outfit moods. Such moods could be getting coffee, a date, a night out, a day trip to San Francisco, and so much more. Another sense of moods could be how you dress according to your literal mood. If someone is feeling down, they could be in darker shades and solid print. A happier person could be decked in pastels and gingham. To capture someone in a natural setting and mood would be fascinating because choosing an outfit subconsciously, or consciously, is still a great ordeal.
